Pobres Tacos 2

Story

It had been months since I last had Pobres Tacos. POBRE$A and his family hadn’t set up on Pico in a while. That all changed this past weekend. Pobres Tacos is back. I asked POBRE$A how it felt to be back. He responded with, “Life wasn’t the same.” Life hasn’t been the same for the customers either. I even heard a customer say “We missed you.” I mentioned it before but this isn’t just a regular taco stand. The experience is like none other. It’s run by a family who makes everyone feel like family. I understand the bias in that statement, but when strangers let it be known how much they missed the spot, you know that spot is special.

This is the first shoot of 2026 for me. I haven’t gone out to take pictures in a couple of months. It felt refreshing getting out of the house on a Saturday afternoon. I pulled up with my brother Shyster who is also a big fan of Pobres Tacos. I told this foo, “Dawg, we gotta come back at least once a month minimum. I miss this.”
