Story

Can’t even lie to you, going down memory lane was tough. Going back to see my middle school brought up a lot of emotions and memories. In middle school, I set off on a path that would change my life. I stopped giving a fuck about school, I wanted to gang bang, started drinking and smoking, and began to travel across the city. Seeing how much the neighborhood changed tripped me out too.

Thomas Starr King Middle School is in the Silverlake / Los Feliz area of LA. I live in South Central. That’s a mission. I was accepted into the Magnet program which meant I qualified to take the school bus from the hood to school and back. While all my homies went to Carver MS, I went to King MS. I did get to meet some sick ass foos out there thoe. Foos from Echo Park, Silverlake, Hollywood. Black, White, other Latinos, and Filipinos. It was different. 

That Circuit City that used to be on Sunset was where I would spend my time instead of going to Winter school. I would eat, grab a snack, watch “50 First Dates”, go to the gaming section, wait for the homie to come out, get high, and go home. That was my routine for like a month. I came up with a lie to my Mom saying there were no grades and I just had to study so I didn’t start 8th grade behind. She believed me. What the fuck was I on?
