Story

I have always been the type of person to rep where I’m from. In my music, in my speech, my attire. I am loud when it comes to repping South Central LA. It’s been a part of my identity since I was in middle school. “I’m from South Central foo”. In 2023, after I started documenting my life via pictures, I knew that taking some flicks of my neighborhood was mandatory.

I hit up Tonz and proposed to him that we go around and do a small photography project about our neighborhood. We drove around to different spots out here in 90011 / 90058 and took some dope flicks. My favorite one will always be the Gumbo Market picture because that’s been my go-to place for snacks and drinks since I was a little morrillo. I also thought it was dope that I got to capture places that both Tonz and I recognize as important places. For Tonz, Kristy’s is for him what Gumbo is to me.

This is home. Never forget where you came from.
