I was in college during this time. I was on vacation trying to figure out what to do. Alex Aldana, the then Outreach Coordinator for the Pico Youth & Family Center, hit me up asking me if I would be down to perform at the Center. The PYFC was about to release their 5th compilation album. I was featured on the album and I was an alum of the PYFC. I immediately said "I'm down".
I got to perform in front of the community. Santa Monica will always be a second home for me. I had like a 10 - 15 minute set to closeout the night. I only performed music that wasn't on the PYFC compilation album. I don't even remember performing the song I recorded for the album.
Dope experience that I wish I had more footage of. This little snippet is all I have.

Story
Getting an internship during High School was a big step for me. I found a home at the Pico Youth & Family Center in Santa Monica, CA. On my 1st day of the internship, I was asked to write a verse dedicated to the Ethnic Studies struggle that was taking place around the country during that time. I didn't record it that night but I left an impression. Side note, it was also the 1st day I met Soulreal.
Fast forward a couple of weeks later, I was asked if I was down to perform the song at a High School MEChA conference at UCLA. I had never performed in front of people. I was scared but excited. I wanted to say "Nah" but I knew this opportunity might never come again so I said "Yeah". This was the result.
