I trip out on the Youtube algorithm sometimes. There’s been times when I go on the app and Youtube recommends a video I need to see at that moment. One of those videos was about an art project in Maywood that shows the history of the Zoot Suit Riots and the Sleepy Lagoon community in the 1940’s. 

A couple of weeks later, I went to go see them. I have always been a fan of Chicano history. The art, pictures, videos, stories, etc. Sometimes, art tells us things that words can’t. You can learn a lot about life as a Chicano just by looking at this mural.
