Story

The film was a project I put together for my Film class my senior year of High School. I was deep into learning about the history of Hip-Hop. My senior thesis was about Socially Conscious Hip-Hop so choosing a topic for a film project was easy. I wanted to showcase the other elements in Hip-Hop besides the MCing, the rap. It allowed me to go film something I was passionate about at the time. I thank my parents for letting me go alone to film this project. Shoutout to everyone that came out in my film. It also features a young Soulreal and the Pico Youth & Family Center. I recorded the first part of the film at a B-boy and B-girl conference in Inglewood at the Youth Justice Coalition building. The last part of the film was recorded at the Pico Youth & Family Center.
